Ernest J. Gaines Society


The Ernest J. Gaines Center at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is pleased to announce the establishment of the Ernest J. Gaines Society, a literary society to promote research and scholarship on the work of Ernest J. Gaines. The society plans to organize panels on Gaines at future meetings of the American Literature Association (beginning in 2015) and Society for the Study of Southern Literature. Plans for activities in the future include a newsletter and a scholars’ conference.

Gaines Society membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the life and work of Ernest J. Gaines. The annual dues for the Gaines Society are:
Regular membership: $20
Student membership: $10
