Alumni Dr. Jarita Davis will be presenting her book Return Flights during a book reading. This event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. in the Ernest J. Gaines Center; which is located on the 3rd floor of the Dupré Library, at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Dr. Davis is known as a poet and fiction writer who achieved her B.A. in classics from Brown University and both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in creative writing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was the writer in residence at the Nantucket Historical Association and has earned fellowships from the Mellon Mayes program, Cave Canem, Hedgebrook, and the Disquiet International Literary Program in Lisbon. Dr. Davis work has been published in The Southwestern Review, Historic Nantucket, Cave Canem Anthologies, Crab Orchard Review, Plainsongs, Tuesday; An Art Project, Verdad Magazine, and Cape Cod Poetry Review. She currently lives and writes in West Falmouth, MA.
